Pulmonary rehabilitation in NSCLC
Sarah Haesevoets is a PhD student at Hasselt University, and she works as a physiotherapist clinician-researcher at hospitals in Hasselt (Jessa Ziekenhuis) and Genk (Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg). Her research focuses on physical activity for patients with lung cancer, and she recently gave a presentation on her work at WCLC. In her presentation, she explained the importance of pulmonary rehabilitation, which involves exercise training, behaviour change therapies, and education for patients who have undergone lung resection for non-small cell lung cancer. She shared insights on the relevance of pulmonary rehabilitation for lung cancer patients. She discussed her initiatives to increase patient adherence through innovative pulmonary rehabilitation programs and increased awareness among healthcare professionals.
