Phase 2 TRANSCEND FL study

At ICML 2025 in Lugano, new data from the phase 2 TRANSCEND study for lisocabtagene maraleucel (liso-cel) CAR-T cell therapy for indolent lymphoma were communicated. 

The first presentation focused on patients with relapsed or refractory marginal zone lymphoma treated with liso-cel. The data indicate that these patients achieve good outcomes, with efficacy similar to that seen in follicular lymphoma. Additionally, the toxicity profile is consistent with what has been observed in other lymphoma subtypes, with no new safety signals, and patients experience long-term, durable responses.

The second study examines liso-cel in follicular lymphoma, with a focus on different subgroups based on factors such as lines of therapy, early relapse (POD24), and prior bendamustine exposure. The overall response rate and complete response rate for the entire cohort were strong, but subgroups with early relapse or prior treatment with bendamustine showed particularly notable results. While patients treated earlier in the second line appear to have better outcomes in terms of duration of response, there were no significant differences in overall survival or time to next treatment across the entire population. Patients with POD24 and those who had prior bendamustine exposure still showed favourable outcomes with liso-cel, although the timing of bendamustine exposure may influence results. These findings suggest that earlier treatment may improve outcomes, but further long-term data are needed to confirm this trend.
